Concerts Update
There are many exciting concerts coming up in the Howe Community Association Summer Concert Series. Each Concert is in the Town Square Park on State Road 120 in Howe, Indiana at 7pm. Grab a pizza, some supper, or an ice cream at one of the shops on the square and come enjoy some music.

LaGrange County Community Jazz Band-
July 5 is the date for this great band. Spend you holiday weekend enjoying some jazz and big band sounds.

Kara Claudy, July 19-
Kara is an energetic young lady who will be making her second appearance as part of the Howe concert series. Miss Claudy is 19 years old and a student at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She says, “I know that I love making music, it's my therapy.”

Estrella de Manana, August 2-
This is an addition to our summer concert schedule. This group comes to us from the congregation of Iglesia Estrella de Manana right here in Howe. We will have a Latin flavor in the park on August 2.

Reconciled, August 16-
Reconciled is another returning group from 2007. The worship team from First United Methodist Church in Sturgis, was one of the highlights of last year. If you missed before, don’t make the same mistake again.

Skook Wright, September 6-
Skook is a former local resident who now splits his time between Indiana and Florida. Skook brings a great variety of Christian and gospel music that you will not want to miss.

Community Calendar
We are trying to put together a community calendar for all members, churches, organizations and groups in the community. We would like to be able to have one place to look for all upcoming dinners, sales, socials, fundraisers and activities. Please submit any information that you have about upcoming events to Dewey Miller at 562-2260 or revdewey@gmail.com. There will be community events in our next newsletter.

Next Newsletter
Our next Howe Community Association newsletter will be coming in early September. If you have suggestions to make this newsletter better, or have information to submit, please get it to Ann Bricker by August 15.

Blog Information
Don’t forget to check out the HCA blog on a regular basis. Events are updated on this site consistently. You can access the site at http://howeindiana.blogspot.com. Here we post information on important meetings, upcoming events and news of community interest. Stay up to date on what is happening in Howe from the comfort of your home of office. In addition, you can email HCA at howecommunity@yahoo.com. Send us an email to get any information on any HCA event, program or topic. You can also use that email address to submit items for the next HCA newsletter, which will be coming to you in late August.

July Drawing
Our second membership prize drawing of the year will be held on July 5. Every active member of the Howe Community Association will be in the drawing for a $200 weekend at Wana Waves/ Splash Universe in Shipshewana. To be eligible, simply complete the enclosed membership form and return it with your membership dues to Debbie Taylor at the Howe branch of Farmer’s State Bank. The drawing will be held in the park at the LaGrange Jazz Band concert. Sign up today, and then come to see if you have won.

Farmer’s Market News
The Farmer’s Market is held every Saturday in the Town Square Park from 7am-noon. Around 15 vendors with home grown and home made products are available every weekend. For the freshest produce and baked goods, the Howe Farmer’s Market is the place to be.

Indian Summer Days Preview
Indian Summer Days is coming up September 19-20 in the Park. This year’s events include a blood drive, a parade, music in the tent, a fun run/walk, a kid’s game area, lots of food vendors, arts, crafts and lots more. This year we are planning to have a quilt show and hoping to do more than ever. Our next newsletter will have more information, including specific details, but mark your calendar now.
