The third season of the Howe Community Association Summer Concerts is upon us. This year there will not be as many concerts as 2007, but we believe that the quality will be a lot better. All concerts will begin in the Town Square Park at 7pm. If it rains, concerts will move to the shelter house in the park.

Membership News
Thank you to everyone for getting our 2008 membership drive off to a good start. Today we have 56 paid memberships for the year. Many have volunteered to help on committees, and some have sent in some very nice donations in addition to their membership dues.
In our December membership mailing we announced that we would have prize drawings for members in March, July and during Indian Summer Days in September. The winner of the March drawing is the family of Jim and Jean Pfenning. The Pfennings win a $50 gift certificate to TJ Iannarelli’s Restaurant in Howe.
We are still taking memberships. The cost for a family membership is $10. Businesses pay dues of $35. Get signed up right away so that you will not miss out on your chance to win the next drawing in July. You can send your membership to HCA at PO Box 300, Howe, Indiana 46746, or drop it off at the Farmer’s State Bank in Howe. If you would rather, you could comment on this entry, or email howecommunity@yahoo.com. Membership cards can be picked up at Farmer’s State Bank or at any regularly schedule meeting of HCA.

Spring Clean Up 2008
May 17 is the annual clean-up day for the Howe Community. Unwanted items can be brought to the Lima Elevator between 8am and noon. Tires, batteries and mattresses cannot be accepted. There will be a small fee for disposal of items.
Major Moves Meeting
Howe, along with the other unincorporated towns in LaGrange County, is being given $50,000 each of Major Moves money. Our township Trustee, Bill Rigg, has scheduled an informational meeting for May 12, 7pm at Pine Knob County Park. Everyone who is interested in the future of Howe should plan to attend this meeting options for use and distribution of these funds will be discussed.
